The Rotary Club of Uyo Metropolis held an educative and engaging fellowship on Sunday, 2 August 2026, focused on Viral Hepatitis, its prevention, regular screening and the importance of taking proactive steps towards better health.

The session provided members and guests with practical information about Viral Hepatitis and the need for early detection and prevention, particularly in the workplace and beyond.

The fellowship went beyond health education as participants had the opportunity to undergo Hepatitis B screening, with vaccines administered to eligible participants. The activity reinforced the importance of turning health knowledge into action through regular screening and preventive care.

The fellowship also featured a special moment of celebration as TengheAbasi, daughter of the club’s Immediate Past President, joined the gathering to celebrate her birthday. In keeping with the spirit of fellowship and family within the club, the Rotary Club of Uyo Metropolis presented her with a custom-made birthday card signed by members present.

From health education and screening to celebration and fellowship, the evening brought together learning, action and camaraderie in a memorable gathering for members and guests of the Rotary Club of Uyo Metropolis.
